Lets see if I have better luck today!
Before heading back to the Carsa showroom I entered the car registrations in to their website and took a look at all three cars.
What I am looking for is the following:
- Cruise Control
- Low Mileage
- Maximum age of 4 years
Although I really, really like the look of the Black one, it has significantly more miles on the clock (for its age) than the White one so it's going to be the White one that I take a look at first.
One thing I have noticed today is that the price on their website is different (slightly lower) than what is displayed on the vehicle at the showroom.
I hope they've not put the price up by £70 - at the end of the day it would be a very poor salesperson that let a sale leave the showroom over £70!Time to have a look around the white one...
Bodywork seems to be in good condition and the interior has been looked after too. After a few minutes of speaking to a salesperson (hereon known as Luke (as that was his name)) I was off on a test drive.
It was quite a long test drive and got to get her up to the National Speed Limit to see how she handled and I was very pleased throughout the drive. The only thing we couldn't test was the Stop/Start Eco feature as there wasn't enough charge in the battery.
All the cars on the Carsa forecourt are ready to go so there's no messing about having to wait for valeting, servicing or any other fart-arsing around with a car that some places do so should you decide a car is right for you, you can literally pay for it and drive it away the same day!
Unlike previous cars I am paying cash (bank transfer) so there's no filling in of any Finance Forms this time, just need to negotiate a (better) price for my current car that I am part-exchanging.
Initially I was only offered £325 for my (very) old car. I had been quoted between £400 - £800 at other places and although they couldn't get near the £800 (and honestly it wasn't worth that much) we managed to strike a deal in between the two that I was very happy with.
It comes with a 3 month (proper) warranty with the option to extend this, along with paint protection, alloy wheel protection and tyre protection options. Despite having had extended warranties and paint protection in the past on this occasion I decided against them.
The car (being only 2 years and 2 months old) originally came with a 7 year Manufacturers Warranty which follows the car (and not the owner) and if you read the small print, after 45,000 miles certain things start to become excluded from the warranty so if the average mileage per year is around 10,000 (the last 3 years I've done 9,000) then I've got at least 2.5 years left before I reach 45,000 miles so I decided to stick with that.
Within just a couple of hours I have viewed, test drove, negotiated a price, paid for and driven off in my new (to me) MG MG3 car - let the fun begin!!
